OFFICIAL COCKTAIL POKER GAME RULES

COCKTAIL POKER 

1.  HERE’S HOW TO PLAY:  Look for the Master of Mixes ® Cocktail Poker Game Packet attached to various bottles of Master of Mixes® Cocktail Mix.  Inside, you will find five playing cards, which constitute your Cocktail Poker hand. 

(A)          The only winning hands are the following:

   A ROYAL FLUSH (10, J, Q, K, A / same suit) –

     Grand Prize – Luxury Vegas Getaway

·        A 4 day/3-night luxury getaway to the Bellagio, Las Vegas, for winner and guest, complete with round trip airfare and $1000 cash.

4 OF A KIND (4 – Same numbered card/different suits)

  First Prize – Custom Poker Set + Sweepstakes Entry (see rule #6)

·        A cherry wood table top collectors’ poker set, complete with custom casino playing cards, hand made dice, and 64 official casino sized poker chips.  Plus, one entry into the First and Second Prize Las Vegas Sweepstakes, consisting of a 3-day/2-night getaway to Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, for winner and guest, complete with round trip airfare and $500 cash.

     FULL HOUSE (3 of a kind + 2 of a kind/different suits within each numeric grouping)

        Second Prize – Custom Deck of Cards + Sweepstakes Entry (see Rule #6)

·        One deck of custom casino quality playing cards.  Plus, one entry into the First and Second Prize Las Vegas Sweepstakes, consisting of a 3-day/2-nigh getaway to Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, for winner and guest, complete with round trip airfare and $500 cash.

     3 OF A KIND (3 – Same numbered card/different suits) -

        Third Prize – Custom Deck of Cards

·        One deck of custom casino quality playing cards.

     2 PAIR (2 – Same numbered card/different suits) –

      Offer – Bottle Coupon

·        One coupon $4.00 toward a 1.75 liter bottle of Master of Mixes.

(B)           Only the card combinations mentioned above count toward game prizes/offers.  Any other card combination, even if it possesses value in traditional poker, will NOT be a winner.

(C)           No winning hands may have duplicate cards as part of their makeup.  A card’s suit must be taken into account as well as its numeric value (ex. 3 of a kind can not contain cards of the same suit).

(D)          It is permissible to build a hand using combinations of cards built up from two or more game packages. Once a winning hand is attained, it is the player’s option whether to turn in his cards for a prize/offer or try to improve his/her hand by continuing to open packets and add cards.

(E)           Only Official Cocktail Poker cards qualify as part of a winning hand.

(F)           Once a player has one of the five winning hands as specified above and desires to submit his cards for an appropriate prize/offer, he must mail in his cards based on the instruction in Rule #3.

Odds and Game Structure:  The odds for attaining winning hands without having to “build” using additional packs are as follows:        

         Three of a kind     1:47 (20,304 winners)

         Full House            1:886 (2,256 winners)

         Four of a kind       1:3921 (255 winners)

         Royal Flush           1:500000 (2 winners) 

The above chart reflects the odds when opening any given package of cocktail poker cards. 

Built Hands:

Two pair:  Given 1 pair (1:21), the odds of building a second pair are (1:4.76)

Three of a kind: This hand cannot be built

Full House:  Given three of a kind, the odds of building a second pair is (1:7.14)

Four of a kind:  Given three of a kind, the odds are (1:66,666) that a following package will contain cards that will yield four of a kind.

2.  For a free packet of five cards and a copy of the Official Rules, send a SASE to:  Master of Mixes Cocktail Poker, PO Box 22392, Louisville, KY 40252 postmarked by 12/1/2003 and received by 12/15/2003.  Limit one request per outer mailing envelope.  Residents of the state of Vermont only, need to affix return postage.

3.  To Claim a Prize/Offer: mail (one) 1 complete 5 card hand (no duplicate cards) along with your complete name, address, zip code and (optional) daytime telephone number, hand printed on a 3” X 5” card to: Master of Mixes Cocktail Poker, PO Box 22392, Louisville, KY 40252 postmarked by 1/6/2004.  All Grand Prize claims for the Las Vegas trip must be mailed via certified mail.  All other prize/offer claims may be via first-class mail.

4.  All claims subject to verification.  Material submitted becomes the sole property of Master of Mixes and will not be returned.  Any playing cards that are illegible, mutilated, altered, duplicated, tampered with, forged, cut, torn, contain printing, typographical or other errors, are distributed where prohibited by law or not obtained legitimately will be null and void.  If  by reason of a printing or other error, more prizes/offers are claimed than the number set forth in these official rules, all persons making purportedly valid claims will be included in a random drawing to award the advertised number of prizes available in the prize category in question.  No more than the advertised number of prizes/offers will be awarded.  Not responsible for late, lost, damaged, incomplete, illegible, postage due or misdirected mail.  If your hand of playing cards does not make up one of the combinations listed above, you are not eligible for a prize/offer.  Limit one (1) Grand First Prized and two (2) Second, Third or Fourth prizes/offers per household.

5.  AVAILABLE PRIZES/OFFERS, APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES AND APPROXIMATE ODDS OF WINNING (UNREDEEMED PRIZES/OFFERS WILL NOT BE AWARDED):

7.  Game starts on or about 4/1/2003.  Open to residents of the United States, who are 21 years of age or older at time of entry, except employees of American Beverage Marketers, participating retailers, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each.  Void where prohibited by law.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.  The potential grand prize and sweepstakes winners must sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Release of Liability/Publicity within 15 days of first attempted notification.  Noncompliance within this time period may result in disqualification.  The grand prize winner and the sweepstakes winner travel companion must complete a Release of Liability/Publicity prior to travel.  All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.  No transfer or substitution of the prize/offer is permitted except at sponsor’s discretion in the event of unavailability and in such event, a prize/offer of equal or greater value will be awarded.  Prize/Offer acceptance constitutes permission to the Sponsors and their agencies and participating retailers to use the recipient’s name and/or likeness for advertising or trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.  Recipients of the prizes/offers assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of any prize/offer.  Sponsors provide no warranty of any kind for prizes/offers.  By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to be  bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges whose decisions are final.  Sponsors not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing, offering or the announcement of prizes/offers.  The grand prize and sweepstakes prize trip must be taken within one year of date it is awarded.  Certain restrictions and blackout dates may apply.
